Dudley South’s MP - Mike Wood - has kept his promise to a young photography enthusiast and arranged for his stunning artwork to be displayed at the prestigious Himley Hall.

The 14-year-old schoolboy – Alan Momori - approached his local MP in July to seek help in finding a location to display his latest photographs of the Fens Pool Nature Reserve.

Soon after getting in touch, Mike, Alan and his family met up at the Fens Pool Nature Reserve to show the MP Alan’s fantastic work and to discuss the prospect of having the photographs placed on public display somewhere in the Dudley Borough.

Mike was so inspired by the young man’s creativity that he vowed to ensure a suitable location was found and, after discussing the venture with Dudley Council, they kindly agreed to host a selection of Alan’s artwork in Himley Hall’s gallery for the general public to enjoy.

Mike joined Alan and his family at the unveiling of this new exhibition last Friday evening.

Mike Wood said, “Like Alan, I too have a passion for photography, and I was simply blown away by his wonderful shots of the Fens Pool, which we are all extremely proud of.

“Alan’s photographs bring the Fens Pool to life in such an brilliant way and I was immensely impressed that he took the initiative to ensure his work could be displayed for the public to view.”

“I am very pleased that Dudley Council agreed to display Alan’s work at Himley Hall as part of a joint exhibition with another youngster, showing we have some extraordinarily talented artists of the future.

“Anybody enjoying a walk around Himley Hall this week, please do pop in for a coffee and to see Alan’s work.”
